Description

TURN’s Utility Justice Training workshop equips service providers, community resource specialists, educators, outreach counselors, and healthcare professionals with vital information and strategies to help families lower their energy bills and access emergency resources. This comprehensive training includes:

Information on bill reduction programs like CARE, FERA, and Medical Baseline, which offer discounts for qualifying low-income families.

Strategies to reduce energy consumption and lower bills.

Guidance on accessing emergency payment assistance programs, such as LiHEAP and AMP, and strategies to help families negotiate affordable payment plans and prevent shutoffs.

These trainings enable service providers and community workers to become advocates for energy justice, ensuring that vulnerable families can maintain essential services and avoid the destabilizing impact of energy shutoffs. By empowering those who work directly with at-risk communities, TURN ensures that the benefits of these programs reach families who need them most.
