Description

This webinar will take you through the basic steps of litigating a typical domestic violence restraining order (DVRO) case, starting with an overview of current law and procedure on who and what qualifies for a DVRO. We will briefly discuss trauma-informed interviews; how to file a DVRO request; prepping for your client’s hearing; what to know and best practices at the hearing itself, e.g., evidence issues; and post-hearing tips. This presentation will offer important insights into how to navigate the family court system while protecting your client’s rights, and the unique challenges survivors face under the law.
