This webinar is intended for family law facilitators, self-help centers, and court staff. Presenters will discuss the Modern Family Act, which went into effect in 2015, with a focus on the streamlined step-parent adoption process available when the child was born to one spouse or partner during a marriage or registered domestic partnership. Participants will also learn about how to screen for eligibility to use this process, what documents self-represented litigants need to prepare, and how to assist litigants in filling the court forms available.
