LAAC has contracted with many of our member organizations or other stakeholders to provide services to our community. Because we have the expertise and a strong network of contacts, we are easily able to provide services that may help you as you apply for your next grant.
Julie Aguilar Rogado, Deputy Director of Legal Services of Northern California, partnered with LAAC for seven years on a federal grant, and shared, “LAAC was an invaluable partner in our statewide senior legal services pilot project. Their coordination of training, data compilation and outcomes reporting helped us engage senior legal services providers statewide to improve the quality and efficiency of legal services delivery for older adults. LAAC’s connections to support centers, field programs, government agencies and national advocacy leaders enable it to facilitate truly effective and efficient collaborative work that results in concrete change for client communities.” Please contact us to get more information on these services:
In-Person Training: LAAC has planned both large and small conferences around the state. We are able to plan half-day to multi-day events, coordinate outreach to the IOLTA community and other partners, solicit and vet presenters, provide MCLE, and support to the contracting organization for all grant-reporting requirements. These events can be specific and targeted or designed to appeal to a broader community.
· Comprehensive training for cohorts of new legal aid attorneys
· Substantively focused training events, bringing together stakeholders around a specific issue
· Large-scale conferences with national audience
Online Training: LAAC provides dozens of webinars each year for various contracts. We coordinate the outreach, help gather and distribute materials electronically, facilitate the webinar, post materials and videos after the training, and provide captioning services to the archived videos for advocates with hearing impairments.
Advocacy: If you and your staff are interested in learning more about state lobbying and advocacy, we help share resources from the experts and can also share toolkits, talking points, and leave-behinds targeted for your legislators and organizational priorities.
Other services we can provide: LAAC also has experience collecting and analyzing data, organizing focus groups, creating statewide online tools, sharing best practices in legal aid technology or other shared challenges, and helping you strengthen your network to amplify the impact of your work. Some of these services may be particularly helpful if a grant requires a new collaboration with other stakeholders.
