LAAC has many listservs you can join to share resources and coordinate with California’s legal services community. Please note that many listservs require approval before being able to join.
The California Guardianship Google Group is restricted to California legal services advocates at LAAC member organizations. The advocates must work on guardianship cases and are expected to share resources and participate in discussions on changes in guardianship laws.
The California Veterans listserv is for legal services advocates who work with veterans and who are interested in sharing best practices and resources to better serve veterans.
Directors of Litigation and Advocacy
The Directors of Litigation and Advocacy (DoLA) listserv is used for sharing substantive legal information, continuing discussions from the in-person meetings, and coordinating statewide responses to recent developments and legislative issues.
The Family Law listserv allows advocates throughout the state to share issues of common concern, advocacy points, and questions about cases and case strategy. To join this listserv, you must work at a LAAC member organization.
This listserv is for individuals interested in becoming a judge or joining the Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE) Commission. Email Lorin Kline at LKline@laaconline.org to subscribe.
Senior Legal Service Providers
The SLSP Section undertakes training, coordination, strategic planning, and some advocacy on behalf of SLSP organizations. Only IOLTA, OAA, and HICAP-funded legal services offices are invited to name a representative to participate in the SLSP listserv.
The Support Centers listserv facilitates coordination between support centers and fosters open interchange of ideas, sharing of concerns, and development of strategies to strengthen the delivery of legal aid in California.
California Language Access Group
This list is a way for legal aid advocates to share information about language access issues in California, including the development, monitoring, and implementation of the state’s Language Access Plan.
If you have questions about using the list, please email us at email@example.com.
CA Legal Aid Communications Group
The CALACG Google group is designed as a confidential list for communications directors (or those whose job responsibilities include communications). Members can share successes, progress, setbacks, and challenges they encounter in their day-to-day communications practices; seek referrals; and seek technical assistance.
CA Legal Aid Technology Group
The CALATG Google group is designed so that staff at California Legal Aid organizations can communicate with staff at other organizations who are responsible for technology upkeep or decision-making regarding best practices, referrals for developers or other experts, troubleshooting problems, collaboration on regional or statewide projects, emerging technologies and issues, and more.
